Coordinator Maintenance

About the role

Damen Shiprepair Curaçao, a shipyard owned by the Damen Shipyards Group that repairs and maintains all types of vessels, is looking for a Coordinator Maintenance. The coordinator ensures the reliability and availability of yard facilities by developing, implementing and overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance plans, acting as the central point of coordination to align resources, monitor progress and resolve operational issues so that downtime is minimized.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review maintenance plans, technical inputs and schedules, aligned with project priorities and operational constraints.
• Plan and allocate workforce, equipment and resources across maintenance projects to meet schedules and optimise capacity.
• Coordinate daily operations between departments, sequencing work efficiently and resolving bottlenecks.
• Lead and supervise foremen and teams, including performance management and workforce development.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards and promote a safe work environment.
• Manage departmental budgets, tools and equipment, ensuring cost control and continuity of operations.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying risks, advising stakeholders and implementing process and performance enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least five years of relevant experience in ship repair.
• Excellent critical thinking, organisational and planning skills, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; knowledge of Dutch, Spanish and Papiamentu is an advantage.
