Driver Operator - ARFF / Pumper (CNGT Program, Curacao)

About the role

The Driver Operator is a fully trained member of the firefighting team on the CNGT program in Curacao, protecting life and property in line with international, US Air Force and PWS requirements. The role involves driving firefighting apparatus to and from fires or other emergencies, operating pumps and other mechanical equipment, and keeping the apparatus ready.

Key responsibilities

• Safely drive firefighting apparatus to and from emergencies, operating pumps and other mechanical equipment as required
• Keep inventory of tools and equipment on the apparatus
• Clean and service the assigned apparatus, report mechanical failures, missing or damaged equipment, and perform apparatus maintenance, cleaning, inventory checks and weekly inspections
• After every emergency response or training drill, check inventory before leaving the scene
• Operate, without direct supervision, various fire department pumping apparatus with multiple water intake and discharge situations at an emergency scene
• Handle all documentation and reporting required by Program and Site leadership

Required profile

• Minimum of three years of previous experience, preferably at a US military installation (Air Force preferred)
• US citizenship, a valid US or local driver's license and a US passport
• Able to obtain and maintain a Secret DOD US government clearance (citizenship required); country visa as required by the Foreign Clearance Guide
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain them during deployment
• Excellent organizational and time management skills and computer skills
