Maintenance Technician (Curaçao)

About the role

Bocobay, a vacation rental management company that expanded to Curaçao in late 2024, is looking for a skilled maintenance technician to keep its properties in excellent condition. This is a hands-on trade role, not an office one: you will move between properties across Curaçao, carrying out repairs, servicing equipment and doing preventative maintenance so problems are caught before guests notice them. You work to a schedule set by the Maintenance Coordinator and must be tidy, polite and discreet in occupied properties.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day repairs across the Curaçao portfolio, including plumbing, basic electrics, carpentry, appliances, air conditioning, pool equipment, painting and general handyman work
• Respond quickly to urgent issues raised by front desks and guest teams, often while guests are still in the property
• Follow the preventative maintenance schedule so recurring faults are fixed before affecting a stay
• Inspect properties and report defects clearly, with photos and notes, so the office can quote homeowners accurately
• Prepare newly onboarded properties by working through snagging lists, assembling furniture and getting everything guest-ready
• Support third-party contractors on site for larger jobs and check their work meets standards
• Log every job accurately, including time, parts used and photos, and keep the van, tools and spare parts organised

Required profile

• Proven hands-on maintenance experience across several trades, ideally in hospitality, property management or facilities
• Comfortable working in occupied guest properties and able to solve problems independently
• Fluency in Papiamento or Dutch, with enough English to deal with guests
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record and right to work in Curaçao
• Willingness to work shifts 5 days a week including weekends and join an on-call rota for urgent issues outside normal hours
