Tax Senior - Curacao

About the role

EY is recruiting a Tax Senior for its head office in Curacao. The role contributes to the team's success by distributing work to Staff 1 and Staff 2 professionals and client-serving associates, applying EY methodologies and tools to meet client expectations and keeping management informed of work status.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure EY independence and client acceptance requirements are met for client engagements
• Handle a portfolio of clients on tax compliance matters, including developing budgets, managing and monitoring engagements and resolving staffing issues within a compliance group
• Produce draft memoranda or opinions on tax advisory matters
• Review the book of business so that billings are timely, accounts receivable are collected and ERPs are set correctly
• Assist in training and motivating junior staff and in preparing and delivering marketing initiatives
• Improve departmental processes and report time spent on each engagement accurately
• Work under the guidance of a Tax Manager, who may assign work and review deliverables

Required profile

• Master's degree in tax law or fiscal economics
• At least 3 years of relevant experience, with exposure to tax compliance and/or advisory work
• Knowledge of tax laws and current and emerging tax issues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English
• Commitment to learning in a tax technology environment

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to research complex tax issues using statute, case law and practice, and to analyse financial statements for tax computations
